Imagine No Malaria

The United Methodist Church has a goal of raising $75 million by 2015, to fight malaria, which needlessly kills someone every 60 seconds. Nearly $60 million has been donated so far, mostly from the people who attend United Methodist Churches every Sunday. The program uses several strategies to empower the African people to overcome malaria. They include insecticide-treated bed nets, help for United Methodist health boards across the country, and funding innovations such as testing repellant creams to prevent mosquito bites. Since the UMC campaign began, the malaria death toll has been cut in half.
